NAED and NAEMT Sign Statement of Alliance

The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) and the National Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatch (NAEMD) jointly strive to encourage and support the missions and goals of each and to work together whenever possible. To this end, this Alliance constitutes a pledge to continuing a dialogue of discovery regarding the synergistic standardization and improvement of prehospital patient care around the world.

Statement of Alliance

Point 1

NAEMD hereby recognizes NAEMT as the lead membership organization in representing certified EMTs of all levels in North America and various other regions throughout the world.

Point 2

NAEMT hereby recognizes NAEMD as the lead membership organization in representing certified EMDs in North America and various other regions throughout the world.

Point 3

NAEMT hereby recognizes and supports NAEMD’s system of standards and the specific scientific-based processes for their maintenance and improvement.

Point 4

NAEMT hereby recognizes and supports NAEMD’s unified protocol methodology, such as the Medical Priority Dispatch Protocols.

Point 5

NAEMD, in keeping with its current policies, supports the continued standard of utilizing no less than EMT-P level instructors for EMD training and lead quality assurance and improvement activities.

Point 6

NAEMD encourages all of its members who practice as EMTs at any level to become members of NAEMT.

Point 7

NAEMT encourages all of its members who practice as emergency medical dispatchers to become members of NAEMD.

Point 8

NAEMD officially creates an NAEMT seat within the College of Fellows Alliance Board. Appointments shall be made by the President of NAEMT and ratified by the Nominating Committee of the Board of Directors of NAEMD. This position will serve as the NAEMT liaison to the College of Fellows Alliance.

Point 9

NAEMT officially creates an NAEMD liaison position with its Board of Governors. Appointments shall be made by the Chairman of the College of Fellows Alliance Board, and ratified by the NAEMT Executive Council. This position will serve as the NAEMD liaison to NAEMT.

 

This alliance shall be in effect and will be automatically renewed annually unless terminated by action of the governing body of either organization upon thirty days written notice to the other organization.
